Getting unemployed can be one of the most unnerving feelings for any person regardless of their age, especially for young people who are intensely career-driven and looking to carve a niche for themselves. However, the fact remains that most of us do go through that stage of not being able to find work and being labeled as ‘unemployed’. Thankfully, the advent of the internet has not opened up new job searching avenues for job seekers in the form of exciting job portals; it also lets them express their angst, insecurities, fear and job-related opinions by way of a blog.

Blogs not just reflect sad stores of the unemployed; they also convey an underlying message of hope and direction through a series of important lessons that would have been written by the blog writer. Additionally, these stores may inspire other unemployed people not to give up hope and take proactive measures to improve their chances of securing a job.

Think of it as a daily diary that reflects your daily observations and experiences and motivate you to get better at whatever you’re planning to do. If nothing else, it makes you feel better by taking the negativity out of you.

 

2)      A sense of purpose and identity. Those who end up blogging on a regular basis invariably create a group of followers who look forward to reading their post for various purposes. Over a period of time, this helps you create a respectable identify for yourself in the world of blog posting.  In shorts, regular blog posting gives you the right to ‘get heard’.

 

3)      Opening up networking possibilities. Writing blogs for the unemployed can actually help you meet a number of new people who may or may not contribute to your job seeking endeavor. Getting to know more people can never be a bad thing, particularly if some of them help you professionally in some way or the other. Never say no to networking!

 

4)      Writing blog posts regularly can help you hone and market your skills, particularly writing skills. You would be kept on your toes all the time because of a sense of responsibility towards your readers and potential employers.

 

5)      Job seekers blogs could also let you create a decent online portfolio, which, if done regularly with a sense of purpose, can allow you to market yourself to employers. If that is your eventual goal, try and not let your blog posts become mere ramblings about your own difficult situations. Writing inspirational and helpful blogs can itself lead to the creation of a portfolio.
